A walk in the rain

A few days of rain. Perfect for a stroll with my camera to visit a friend.

He was deep in contemplation, as usual, but welcomed my question. "Why is it so hard to find your heart's desire?"

"Stop searching, and it will find you," he said.

"Allow the universe to perform its own alchemy."

"Remain open. Remain in the now and possibilities will bloom."

Memorial Day

It was quite a day.

There was the Commander.

And the giant eagle.

The saxophone player.

And the parade girl with her Daddy and Mommy (in the red shirt).

There were fire trucks. Of course, there were fire trucks.

And marching bands.

And more marching bands.

Funny vehicles.

And the reason why it's worthwhile to go to two parades 50 miles apart on the same day. Thank you, veterans, for all you do for us.

Rambling on

It's such a common story, it's practically a cliche.

Parents that feel love and pride for their child's talents but don't quite understand them.

They really do try. It's just that they're old school and you're, well, writing your own text book as you go along.

So what a joy, what a relief, to have a forum of like-minded spirits who see what you see.

A place to be yourself and still love those who love you.

A room of one's own.

May ramble

"Why don't you take some pretty pictures?" she asked. "You photograph such odd things."

"Are these onions? Who photographs onions?"

"And why so many rocks and leaves?"

"People like happy pictures."

"You keep talking about texture. No one looks at a photo for texture."

"I just don't understand why you think these things are beautiful."

Happy Mothers Day

For all of you who are mothers, who act as mothers, who have mothers.

For my beautiful mother and yours.
